Favorite Food Memory

My favorite food memory would be when I would visit my Nana Vickie and Papa Doug. My nana was always the best cook hands down, but every time I would go to her house she would have the exact same three food items for me waiting.  Their fridge was always stocked full with Mountain Dew Code Red and string cheese and the freezer always had a huge bowl of puppy chow. My nana makes the best puppy chow in the world. My mom, aunt and other grandma have tried to make it for me, but Nana Vickie has always made the best. When I picture my child hood I think of me and my Papa Doug sitting in the living room in his big chair drinking a nice cold Code Red while eating a big bowl of puppy chow. Even to this day every time I go to their house I make sure to help her make the puppy chow or she already has it made. It’s gotten to the point where I want a bowl for when I’m there to eat and then I bowl made for me to take home. When I do get a bowl to take home it is normally gone by the time I get back to Missouri.

Movie Preference

Movie Preferences

·         I have many movies that I have enjoyed. One movie that I have recently watched that I really loved was “The Heat”. I thought this movie was hilarious and I love Melissa McCarthy as an actress. Every movie she is in I am cracking up and crying with tears because I was laughing so hard. “The Heat” kept me laughing and it had a good plot twist to it.

·         I do not care for musicals. They get on my nerve.

·         I usually watch a movie at least once a weekend. My boyfriend and I are always going to a new movie.

·         For movie viewing I need everybody around me to be quiet, even though I talk the whole time, a Sprite, and a box of Milk duds.

·         I am 58% extraverted, 50% agreeable, 50% contentious, 58% emotionally stable, and 42% open to new experiences.

Dan in Real Life Questions

Dan in Real Life Questions

#1: Do you think it’s important to write about what you know?

A: I think it is important to write about what you know. You want to write about something you have a passion for. If you didn’t enjoy or know about what you’re writing then you won’t have any fun.

#2: What are three tips you would give to parents of teenagers?

A:  Give them space, treat them like the adult they are, and do get on to them for every little thing.

#5: How old do you think someone should be to date? Wear a thong? Fall in love?

A: I think fifteen is the appropriate age to date, being thirteen to wear a thong, and that any age a person can fall in love. I don’t think you can put an age limit on love.

#7: Can you know in three days if you love someone?

A: Yes, if it’s true love then it can happen in the shortest of time.

#8: What are books that would pull Marie in?

A: I would suggest the Delirium series and any Sarah Dessen books.

#18: What are some good pick up lines you’ve heard?

A: “Do you have a band-aid? Because I think I scrapped my knee falling for you.”

#30: Are you a good bowler?

A: No, every time I have bowled I have come in last a lot.

Inspriring Images

Prose:

I taste the salt in the air and feel the cool ocean breeze. Being in Jamaica has opened my eyes to a new culture and I’ve made a million memories with my new hubby. I will never forget how shocked I was when I first stepped on the sand; it was like all my problems had tolled away with the tides and I was at peace with myself. I won’t forget the feeling of the squishy sand between my toes or the sound of my husband laughing uncontrollably. It’s the last day of our honeymoon. I’m going to miss the endless buffets, the sounds of the exotic birds waking me up in the morning, scuba diving and discovering a new world, and most of all I am going to miss sitting on the beach with my husband realizing how truly blessed we are.

Poem:

I taste the salt in the air and feel the cool ocean breeze

Being in Jamaica has opened my eyes to a new culture and I’ve made a million memories with my new hubby

I will never forget how shocked

Shocked I was when I first stepped on the sand

It was like all my problems had tolled away with the tides and I was at peace with myself

I won’t forget the feeling of the squishy sand between my toes or the sound of my husband laughing uncontrollably.

It’s the last day of our honeymoon.

I’m going to miss the endless buffets

The sounds of the exotic birds waking me up in the morning

Scuba diving and discovering a new world

And most of all I am going to miss sitting on the beach with my husband realizing how truly blessed we are.

Debbie's Big Day

Debbie’s Big Day

Little Debbie Maska was so excited to finally be five. Her birthday was tomorrow and she wanted to have a princess themed party. Being a princess herself everything at her party had to be just the way she wanted. Debbie told her mother she wanted every princess to be at her party, from Jasmine to Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Belle.

Debbie and her mother had many things to do before the party the next day. One of Debbie’s biggest problems was what princess she should be for her party. Her two favorite princesses’ were Belle and Arial. She loved Belle because of her beautiful gold dress, but she loved that Arial was a mermaid.  Debbie’s mother took her to the costume store and tried on both outfits. She decided to go with Belle because her dress was the prettiest thing she had ever seen.

Now that Debbie’s outfit was all picked out it was time for them to head to the bakery. Debbie’s mom ordered a pink cake with a crown fit for a princess on top. Debbie loved her cake; it was exactly what she wanted. Everything was falling into place; her party was going to be perfect.

After a night of no sleep because she was so excited for her party to get here it was finally the day. Debbie brushed her hair, put her Belle dress on, her mom even let her put eye shadow on, and slipped into her princess sandals she was ready for the party to begin. Her mom had put streamers all over the house and pink and white confetti all over the floors and tables. All of Debbie’s friends arrived and they opened cake and presents and spent the afternoon laughing and play with Debbie’s new princess dolls she got.

At the end of the day Debbie was laying with her mom on the couch taking in how great her day was. She then said “I can’t wait for next year’s party. I am going to make it even better.”

Child's Play

#2: The most important person in my childhood would either be my papa or mom. Both of them have overcome many struggles in their life and they both inspire me to be like them.  They always make the right decision and they are always there for their family.
#3: If I was a child and I was granted adulthood for 24 hours I would do many things. To start I would go on a shopping spree because when you are a child you don’t have a lot of money, I would go out on the town just to experience it, and I would eat whenever I wanted to. I would go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast,  Panera for lunch, and Hinode for dinner. Also with a lot of snacks in between.
#4: Sydney Norton had been my best friend ever since elementary, but once we got to middle school everything changed. I couldn’t even tell you what changed us being friends, but since they we don’t really speak to each other and when we see each other in the hall we just kind of look away.
#5: My family and I would go to the zoo, paint pottery, go to Barnes and Noble to get new books, and ride our bikes to the nature center.  When I was little I loved when my mom would take me to paint pottery; it was my favorite thing to do. We didn’t really have family fun night, I remember doing a lot of activates with my mom and sister.
#9. Something I know now that I wish I knew when I was little would be that just because you don’t get what you want right away doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world. I still have trouble realizing that today, but I like being spoiled sometimes. I’ve also learned that something’s better if you pay for it yourself. When I was little if I knew that I probably would have saved all my chore money to get the toy that I wanted.
