Mr. Linden's Library

Mr. Linden’s Library
On a late sunny August afternoon the mayor’s daughter, Candice, was off to the town’s library. Candice was going to Linden’s Library because she had a huge research paper due next week and she needed to pick a topic over SyFi.  Once Candice came to the SyFy section she began looking for the perfect book. As she was looking for the book she was startled by an old homeless looking man. She just ignored him and figured that he was just resting there. Right as she grabbed the book titled Morgan’s Curse the homeless man screamed at her. He had warned her about the book.  The old man explained that whoever opened the book would spend a lifetime being cursed. Candice said to the man, “You’re crazy. Nothing is going to happen.”Candice opened the book and started reading, but now it was too late. The old man just sat there quietly knowing what was in store for her. He himself had opened the book and his whole life torturous events had happened to him. He thought to himself, “I would tell her how to deal with the curse, but to her I’m just some crazy old man.” Finally after watching Candice read the first couple pages the old man turned to her and said quietly, “Good luck, you’re going to need it.” Before Candice could reply he was gone. Candice then walked out of the library unaware of what was in store for her next.
